I’m having a bit of a spring style crisis.
I want a revamp but as ever I’ve the taste for Vogue but the budget for make do and mend, so I went back to the fabric stash and pattern collection and had a look at what I could use up. I’ve a collection of brown and blue fabrics that all need making into something, I started with the blue and brown diamond plaid and made up the skirt from an out of print Vogue pattern I had. It is a drop waisted skater style skirt.
I’ve some blue tweed that will make a nice cardigan style coat although I’m also thinking that I’ll need some blue tees and a blue denim jacket. A quick dash round New Look in town and these tops caught my eye, so here’s a little look book I put together.
What do you think? What are your Spring style essentials?

Ooh, that’s lovely! I wish I had the patience to make a skirt in one weekend. Spring essentials? I’m not sure actually. But I am enjoying my crisp white shirt.
Hi Harper,
This style is really easy, as the only fitting is the darts on the waist and the skirt is two half circles. It flares really nicely.
I’ve got some white shirts to revamp too.
Its heading into winter on this side of the world so slightly different essentials but…
I’ve always wanted to be a white shirt essential kind of girl but they look TERRIBLE.
So for autumn – several fine merino jumpers, a pair of really well fitting jeans, two or three nice long sleeved tops
For spring, though it feels a long way off!:
my wide legged linen pants (M&S), a lightweight fitted denim jacket, something short sleeved in green, and in black (of course) , and my trusty floral half circle skirt.
